Photo Gallery | Bossier City Firefighters make one girl's wish come true

Members of Bossier City Firefighters Local 1051 used their construction skills to give a brave 11-year-old Arkansas girl a present she always wanted.

Rebecca Shelton, who suffers from a life-threatening genetic condition, has always wanted a pool. The non-profit group the Kids Wish Network called Bossier City Firefighters Kevin Bragg and Ashton Poole for help. They own B&P Dirt Works which installs pools and immediately said yes to installing an above-ground pool at Rebecca's Fouke home.

Two other firefighters, Mike Adams and Christian Burrus, then volunteered the services of their construction company Acadian Concepts LLC to build a deck and wheelchair ramp for the new pool. Lumber for the project was donated by Custom Built Cabinets and Supply.

With help from fellow firefighters and a little hard work, Rebecca now has the pool she always wanted right in her own back yard.
