Toy drive set for dependents of deployed military service members

Because a number of dependents of military service members don't get to share the holiday season with their mothers or fathers, a Bossier Chamber of Commerce member is working to change that with a toy drive.

Rezoning plans near Carriage Oaks met with opposition

Rezoning plans near Carriage Oaks met with opposition

Some Carriage Oaks residents are trying to put a stop the rezoning of a vacant lot at the entrance of the subdivision that would allow the construction of a Fred's Super Dollar store.

The lot sits at the corner of Shed Road and Hickory Ridge Drive, which serves the front entrance and main access to and from the residential neighborhood near Stockwell Elementary School.

Several residents are asking their neighbors to sign a petition to stop the rezoning, out concern it will cause excessive traffic congestion.
