BPCC announces Camp Cavs Summer Youth Camps 2013 offerings

Camp Cavs, BPCC’s summer program for kids, will be held in the months of June and July. Camps are 3 or 4 hours and are scheduled Monday-Friday, unless otherwise noted. Camps are available for ages 5-18 and will include softball, basketball, karate, BMX, cheer, dance, guitar, theater/drama, painting, drawing, CSI, writing to name a few. All campers will receive T-shirts.

Registration for Camp Cavs is open, and camps will be held at Bossier Parish Community College campus, UNLESS otherwise noted.  There may be additional supply fees associated with certain camps.

Holiday in Dixie to host first BBQ cook-off

The Holiday in Dixie Ambassadors Club will host the inaugural Holiday in Dixie BBQ Cook-Off from 3 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 in the riverfront area of Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport.

Admission is $10 and includes three BBQ sample tickets. Additional sample tickets may be purchased for $1. Proceeds raised at the event will benefit the Holiday in Dixie Senior Essay Scholarship for Caddo and Bossier Parish students.

BPCC baseball goes pink for breast cancer awareness

BPCC baseball goes pink for breast cancer awareness

The BPCC Cavalier baseball team will don pink jerseys in honor of breast cancer awareness for its game at 3 p.m. Monday, March 25, against Eastfield College at BPCC ball field, 6220 E. Texas St. in Bossier City.

All gate proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  Admission to the game will be a donation to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Donations for admission to the game are strictly on a volunteer basis.

BPCC to open doors to local seniors, parents

Bossier Parish Community College will open its gymnasium to local high school seniors and their parents for Senior Fling Open House at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 21.

The open house will give seniors and their parents the opportunity to visit with representatives from the various academic divisions, meet instructors, experience our student organizations, and receive important financial aid information.
