The Louisiana Master Gardeners Horticulture Series has invited landscape architect Marc Funderburk to speak from 10 a.m. to Noon on Wednesday, Feb. 20, Riverview Hall, 600 Clyde Fant Parkway. The lecture is free.

Rezoning plans near Carriage Oaks met with opposition

Some Carriage Oaks residents are trying to put a stop the rezoning of a vacant lot at the entrance of the subdivision that would allow the construction of a Fred's Super Dollar store.

The lot sits at the corner of Shed Road and Hickory Ridge Drive, which serves the front entrance and main access to and from the residential neighborhood near Stockwell Elementary School.

Several residents are asking their neighbors to sign a petition to stop the rezoning, out concern it will cause excessive traffic congestion.

Construction of townhomes and offices underway at Bossier City Villaggio

Villaggio, the first mixed-use development in Bossier-Shreveport, has broken ground on The Townhomes at Villaggio and the Offices at Villaggio.

Both components are part of the master plan for the 64 acre development on Highway 80 and I-20 in Bossier City.

Phase One of The Townhomes at Villaggio is under construction and actual move in is anticipated in 90 days. Currently, three of the initial 8 units have been pre-sold.
