Bossier H. S. comes out on top at 3rd annual Cyber Forensics Camp

Bossier High School has emerged as the champions of the 3rd Annual Cyber Forensics Camp, which was held at Northwestern State University on July 11-16.

The school received a $1,250 technology award from the Cyber Innovation Center (CIC) for its victory.

The winning schools will use those funds to purchase technology that will advance the education students obtained at the camp.

South Bossier Church holding revival

There will be a revival at the South Bossier Baptist Church at 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. July 31 and at noon and 6:30 p.m. on August 1-3. Lunch on those days will be served. Bossier City promotes two officers

Bossier City Chief of Police Shane McWilliams announced the promotions of two police officers. Mayor Lorenz Walker joined Chief McWilliams in promoting the following officers during a ceremony at the Bossier City Police Department. Ed Joseph was promoted to the rank of captain. Captain Joseph has been a member of the Bossier City Police Department since 1983 and is assigned to the patrol division as C shift commander. Randy Rufty was also promoted to the rank of captain.

Members of the Bossier City Fire Department will host a barbeque fund-raiser July 4 to benefit the newborn daughter of one of their own who was diagnosed with a rare eye condition that has rendered her without sight.

Georgia Kate Poole, daughter of Bossier City firefighter Ashton Poole was born on June 16 with a rare congenital disorder which occurs during fetal eye development known as Peters Anomaly. As a result Georgia Kate was born without the ability to see.
