Bossier City children 'Shop with a Cop' Wednesday

Underprivileged children in Bossier City will be given the opportunity to participate in a Christmas shopping spree with members of the Bossier City Police Department  Wednesday.

Bossier City Police Local 645 and the Bossier Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #39 will be taking approximately 75 children shopping at Wal-Mart Supercenter in Bossier as part of the department's annual 'Shop with a Cop' program.

The shopping spree will kick off at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 14th.

BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) – District Attorney Schuyler Marvin partnering with Louisiana Attorney General James D. “Buddy” Caldwell, State Representative Henry Burns and North Louisiana Law Enforcement Officials will hold a news conference Friday, December 9th to discuss church and school security during the holidays.

The conference will begin at 10 a.m. in the mayor’s conference room in the Bossier City Municipal Complex, located in Bossier.

The Attorney General’s office is expected to speak on school safety and security.

In an effort to find a match for area resident Linell Kemp, a public drive to add members to the Be The Match® marrow registry will be held at Boomtown Casino, 300 Riverside Dr., Bossier City, La. on Wednesday, Nov. 23 from 10a.m. to 5p.m. All races and ethnicities are welcome and African-American participants are strongly encouraged to register due to the likelihood of a match for Kemp.

Snappy Scrubs Car Wash will join over 1,300 other car wash locations across the nation in providing FREE car washes to veterans and current military service personnel with valid military identification.

It's all apart of the Grace for Vets Free Wash Program. On Friday, November 11th from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. at 1900 Benton Road. Washes will be provided rain or shine.

The FREE washes are provided to honor and recognize those that have and are serving in the armed forces.
