Members of the Bossier City Police Department were honored at the annual BCPD Awards Ceremony and Banquet held this evening at the Bossier Civic Center.
The Bossier City Police Department and one of its officers were honored for their efforts last year in enforcing Louisiana’s drunk driving laws under a grant funded by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
Airline High Principal Mr. Jason Rowland participated this past weekend in the New Orleans Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon. Pictured with Mr. Rowland is Mr. Jason Smith, President of Airline Alumni and Friends Foundation (AAF). Over twenty-two thousand participated in the event.
The Bossier City Police Department promoted three officers Tuesday. The promotion ceremony was held at the police department, with the officers' family members, Mayor Lo Walker and Police Chief Shane McWilliams in attendance.
On Wednesday Bossier City Chief of Police Shane McWilliams announced the promotions of five officers. Chief McWilliams made the promotions during a morning ceremony at the Bossier City Police Department with numerous family members and department personnel in attendance.

The Bossier City Police Department is warning residents about a scam involving bogus telephone solicitations that claim to raise money for the Bossier Shop with a Cop program.
Police have received reports recently from the public about getting calls from someone claiming to be raising funds for the program on behalf of the Bossier Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Bossier City Police Union.
