State officials and Bossier City leaders to talk holiday security

BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) – District Attorney Schuyler Marvin partnering with Louisiana Attorney General James D. “Buddy” Caldwell, State Representative Henry Burns and North Louisiana Law Enforcement Officials will hold a news conference Friday, December 9th to discuss church and school security during the holidays.

The conference will begin at 10 a.m. in the mayor’s conference room in the Bossier City Municipal Complex, located in Bossier.

The Attorney General’s office is expected to speak on school safety and security.

LOOK AHEAD: Federal weapons trial for Bossier man begins in Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA)-

The federal weapons trial for a Bossier City man once accused of a triple homicide in Bossier gets underway later Tuesday morning in Shreveport.

Gerald Needham, 39 is charged with being a felon in possession of ammunition, that charge is related to the triple murder case in Bossier City that Needham was first accused of.

Bossier City Police arrested Needham back in May 2011 for the murder of three men at Bill Norris' Appliance Store in Bossier.

BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) - The public's help is needed in locating a Bossier City man that's reportedly been missing for more than two weeks.

32-year-old Anthony Ray Estess was reportedly last seen on November 8th. Police say he left his Bossier City home to run an errand and never returned.                        

So far, detectives investigating the case do not suspect foul play.

Bossier City teen killed in bicycle accident

A Bossier City family is making funeral arrangements for a teenaged boy killed in a bizarre bicycle accident over the weekend.

Witnesses told police 13-year-old Marcus Griffin was riding his bicycle on Hoyer Street on Sunday, when it appeared the chain on his bike locked up, throwing him over the handlebars. Witnesses told police he struck his head on the pavement. He was not wearing a helmet.

Vacant Bossier City home destroyed by early morning fire

BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) - A vacant Bossier City home caught fire early Tuesday morning.

The fire was reported shortly after midnight at a home in the 100 block of Colquitt Rd., in the neighborhood next to Bass Pro Shop and the Louisiana Boardwalk.

Bossier City firefighters arrived at the home to find it fully engulfed in flames.

The home reportedly had power and utilities, but was vacant.
