Road repairs delayed at LA 157 bridge

The State of Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development  has delayed piling repairs to the LA 157 bridge over Foxskin Bayou in Bossier Parish until Tuesday due to weather conditions. The bridge is near Oakland just north of the junction of LA 527.

Bossier City man arrested for drugs and careless driving

BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) - A Bossier City man was arrested by Bossier Parish Sheriff's deputies over the weekend for alleged drugs and careless driving.

Spencer Lee Shands, 24 has been charged with possession of schedule IV (prescription drugs), possession of drug paraphernalia, careless operation, expired motor vehicle inspection and texting while driving.

Deputies reported observing Shands speeding while crossing two lanes of traffic without a turn signal.

BEWARE: Shop with a Cop Fundraising Scam

The Bossier City Police Department is warning residents about a scam involving bogus telephone solicitations that claim to raise money for the Bossier Shop with a Cop program.

Police have received reports recently from the public about getting calls from someone claiming to be raising funds for the program on behalf of the Bossier Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Bossier City Police Union.

BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) - City of Bossier City administrative offices, including offices for City Council, will be closed Friday, December 23, 2011 and Monday, December 26, 2011 in observance of Christmas.

Also as part of the city's holiday observances, residential trash collection routes will change for the week of December 26th to the following:
