Bossier City Police arrested a man Tuesday night after he assaulted his wife and set a fire that destroyed two garages and two vehicles and damaged two homes.

40-year old Nolan Lando was arrested on charges of aggravated arson and domestic abuse battery stemming from a series of incidents that began late Tuesday night.

An off-duty deputy and a passing motorist helped move an SUV, Sunday morning, to help rescue a woman pinned underneath.

State police say that Melissa Maggio-Faulkner, 24, was heading southbound down highway 3 in a  2003 Toyota 4Runner, just north of Bossier City near Vanceville Rd. when her vehicle drifted into the neighboring lane clipping a 2007 Ford Taurus next to her.

After impact, the driver of the Ford Taurus, 39-year-old Richard P. Ramsey of Benton, suddenly brought his vehicle to a stop.

Caddo deputies arrest woman for illegally using debit card

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – Caddo Deputies arrested the caretaker for a 72-year-old man for using his debit card illegally.

50-year-old Vicky Brackens of Bossier City was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for unauthorized use of an access card following an investigation by detectives.

Bossier City firefighters respond to fire at Porter's Cleaners

A small fire reportedly broke out just before midnight Wednesday at the Porter's Cleaners on Benton Rd. in Bossier City.

The fire allegedly begin in the 2nd warehouse at the business and was reportedly under control within 10 minutes. Firefighters managed to contain the fire to just the one bin.

However, all the clothes that were inside that bin appear to be destroyed.

A cause has yet to be determined.

Bossier home "engulfed" by fire

Firefighters are still investigating the cause of a home fire in Bossier City Wednesday.

Firefighters arrived at the house fire on Gibson Circle in the Bossier annex area shortly after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning to find the home fully engulfed in flames which appeared to be coming from the kitchen area of the home.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

Suspicious fires set at Bossier City hotel

BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) – Police are questioning a juvenile after a pair of suspicious fires behind a Bossier City hotel.

Tuesday morning, employees at the Bossier Inn & Suites on Diamond Jacks Blvd. noticed a bush had been set on fire. They were able to put that fire out themselves.
