Bossier City Police welcome 3 new members to its force

The Bossier City Police Department welcomed three new members Thursday morning during a ceremony held at the police department.

Police Officers Steven Wood and Dustin Mills and Jailer Paul Martin received their badges after they were sworn in by Bossier City Police Chief Shane McWilliams. All three men completed training at the Bossier Sheriff’s North Louisiana Criminal Justice Academy and will now begin a 5-week long departmental training program to learn the policies and procedures of the Bossier City Police Department.

Following their departmental training, the officers will spend three months riding patrol with Field Training Officers before being assigned to the patrol division. Jailer Martin will be assigned to the Bossier City Jail staff upon completing his departmental training.
