National Black Rodeo Finals coming to CenturyLink Center

Tickets are now on sale for the 2011 National Black Rodeo Finals, coming to the CenturyLink Center at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29. Ticket prices are $21.50 for adults and $18.50 for children 2-5. Ticket prices will increase on the day of the show. Tickets are available at the CenturyLink Center Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations including participating Wal-Mart stores, online at ticketmaster.com, or by calling 800-745-3000.

Award-winning gospel group special guest for free concert at Central Assembly of God

 Central Assembly of God welcomes award-winning Southern Gospel Quartet, Brian Free & Assurance.

 The church will host a free concert on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 6:00 PM.

 Central Assembly of God is located at 700 Highway 80 (at the Foot of the Cross) in Bossier City, Louisiana.

 The concert is free and open to the public. A love offering will be received. For more information contact the church office at (318) 949-0010.

BPCC hosting genealogy workshop

Bossier Parish Community College’s Cultural Event focus continues with the “Genealogy for Beginners Workshop.”  The workshop will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, October 5 in Building D-Room 210 at BPCC. The presenter will be Reed Mathews, Genealogy Librarian, Shreve Memorial Library (Broadmoor Branch). The event is part of BPCC’s “National Hispanic Heritage Month” cultural event series.

Bossier City’s 11th annual Family Fun Day

Bossier City’s 11th annual Family Fun Day, hosted by the Housing Authority of Bossier City, will be held Saturday, September 24, at the Mitchell Park Recreational Center at 1518 Cox Street, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The event is free to the public, and will have a number of entertainments including games, clowns, music, inflatables, hot-dogs, hamburgers and refreshments for everyone in attendance.

The Robinson Film Center will present an outdoor screening of “Despicable Me”  after the festivities.
